My current phone is a HTC Touch running Windows Mobile 6. I love my phone and I use it for many many things…..Twitter, Email, Photos, SMS, Excel, Weather………………oh yes, and as a phone of course!
Anyway, the folks over at Microsoft are currently testing a brand new service for us WM users called MyPhone. MyPhone allows you to sync virtually every item on your phone and its storage cards with the web. Amongst other things the service allows you to sync;
- Contacts
- Calendar
- Tasks
- SMS Messages
- Photos
- Videos
- Music
- Documents
- Storage Cards
Once the items have been synced with the service you have the option to archive them and they will then be removed from the phone. But don’t worry you can add any item back to the phone at any time.
Basically, you will have a backup of all of your content on your phone and access to this material from the web. Perfect!
As I say, the service is only currently in beta and there is a waiting list for people to join the beta, but I have a feeling this one will be worth the wait and the initial noises from those who have tried it are all positive.
So if you’re not yet in the beta get on the wait list now.
